Answers to the questions you didn't even know you had (a FAQ replacement) :
What kind of camera do you use?
To be fully honest, since I'm on the run most of the time, I use my iPhone (6s) camera (thanks Apple for that amazeee pixel quality). If I want to up the quality of my photos or keep them interesting, I'll use an olloclip- usually their wide-angle or fisheye lens does the trick for me! I edit most, if not all of my photos, on VSCO and/or A Color Story. When I'm trying to be a real photographer, I use a Nikon D60 with a standard 50mm lens or sometimes my Nikon wide-angle lens.
Who takes those killer pictures of you?
To be fully honest with you, it's probably my wonderful mom because she has an eye for composition and she'll always tell me I'm pretty (thanks momma bear!). However, if it looks professional (so most of the head shots on here), chances are my freshman year roomie Sharon took it- she's the most talented photographer I know and I recommend checking her out.
What platform do you run your blog on?
To be honest, I've tried out almost every platform under the sun and I've settled on Squarespace. As a coder, it really irked me originally to pay for what I can do myself, but Squarespace does an amazing job of saving me and fellow bloggers so much time by giving us an amazing and user-friendly platform. However, I have run previous blogs/websites on Wordpress and Wix and Weebly and find all three incredibly easy to use as well! I find Squarespace the most aesthetically pleasing.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA (Peace up, A-town down- thanks, Usher). However, I go to school in the bright and bustling city of New York City for about 9 months out of the year!
Why'd you start blogging?
'Cause I'm good at advice, duhhh! No, actually, I found blogging to be an easy niche for me after a few failed attempts and plenty of marketing internships. I got really into blogging the summer between my sophomore and junior years of college (Summer 2015) and ever since then, Molly Em has been up and running like crazy!
What advice would you give to a new blogger?
As a pretty new blogger myself, my advice is simple. Keep to it. Try to schedule in an editorial calendar with your regular day-to-day calendar. Make time to blog and COMMIT to it. If you keep putting out content consistently, you'll grow and so will your blog. Also, do not ever be afraid to market yourself. Once you've been around for a bit and have some footing, make business cards, contact brands, and put yourself out there! Rejection will happen and you will learn and grow from it.
