I'm a big fan of makeup, and it's gotten slightly out of hand at this point. My Sephora card is basically worn to death and my points are through the roof there. However, 2015 was a year of GREAT beauty products for me. I finally started shelling out a lil' more now so I "don't let my face get burned off" as some of my friends have said. I've also seriously fallen in love with some great products and I'm super pumped to share my favorites of 2015 with you!
Face Wash: philosophy Purity Made Simple® Facial Cleansing Gel & Eye Makeup Remover. I've raved about this before but it IS SO WORTH RAVING. My friend Bridgit introduced me to this and I've never looked back. It smells amazing (just really fresh and clean) and always removes every piece of dirt. It's even better with a Clarisonic I've heard, but I wouldn't know!
Deep Moisturizer: Origins Drink Up™ Intensive Overnight Mask. I was sent a tiny sample of this from Sephora and as soon as I finished it, my skin started screaming for more. It's supposed to be a mask, so I try to use it NOT everyday, but during the winter, it is absolutely perfect for keeping your skin super soft!
Regular Moisturizer: CLINIQUE Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel. I've been using this for years and it's a staple in my makeup bag. It moisturizes perfectly, with no oily residue and it doesn't leave my face feeling kind of tight like some other moisturizers. It's no frills, but absolutely perfect!
Mask: Origins Clear Improvement™ Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores. I'm big on face masks. If you didn't see my Lush post from the other day, you should check it out because I swear by Lush's face products. This mask however, is SO GREAT. It's fresh and refreshing and always fun to use.
I'm all about keeping my hair long and strong as possible. I have a LOT of hair and it is THICK and CURLY and likes to get tangled. I use It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Conditioner Plus Keratin and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner. This helps to keep it as soft as possible so I have less breakage. To style my hair, I use DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel and Bumble and bumble Brilliantine. The Devacurl helps define my curls and the Brilliantine keeps them shiny.
Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish More Than Primer - Blemish Control.
Foundation: SEPHORA COLLECTION 10 HR Wear Perfection Foundation in (12) Light Ecru. Sephora Collection makes a great and creamy foundation that's definitely worth checking out.
Concealer: NARSRadiant Creamy Concealer in Chantilly. I'm pale as hell and this is the LIGHTEST shade that Nars makes. I've had everyone I know and their mother rave to me about this concealer so I finally bought it and now I'm that person as well.
Contour: Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette. I'm still new to contour, but this palette makes it surprisingly easy.
Blush: Urban Decay Naked Flushed in Native (out of stock). This is a SUPER bright pink so I use a really light hand and it gives me the perfect flush.
Highlighter: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector™ Pressed in Opal. Okay, if you buy ONE thing off this list, MAKE IT THIS. This makes you look like you have angels living under your skin, just lighting up your face with light and perfection. There is nothing wrong with this and I would literally buy 300 of these if they ever became discontinued.
Bronzer: Too Faced Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer.
Powder: Laura Mercier Mineral Pressed Powder SPF 15 in Real Sand
Blender: beautyblender the original beautyblender®. This is hands down, the best beauty purchase I have ever made. It is absolutely key for keeping everything blended and looking airbrushed and I find it makes everything look more natural than when I use a brush!
Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette. This is the ultimate palette. It's pretty much perfect for everyone, as it has a lil' bit of shimmer and a lil' bit of matte and a good enough range of colors. If you're going to get a eyeshadow palette, I'd start here.
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette. If you're going to get a second palette to add to your collection, make it this one. It's a perfect addition to any collection, but it's even better if you have another Naked palette. It's perfect for day and night smoky eyes, which are faves of mine.
Lash Primer: Dior Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum. Makes my lashes look fake and long and strong, which is just how I like them.
Mascaras: Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and Dior Diorshow Iconic Waterproof Mascara in Extreme Black. I've been using the Diorshow for years now and I love it, but I'm always up for trying something new. When the AMAZING reviews of the Better than Sex mascara came out, I ran to go get it and I'm never looking back. It ALMOST lives up to its name, but it's still the perfect mascara.
Tweezers: Tweezerman Pink Perfection Slant Tweezer. I was recently told (by a boy, no less) that my eyebrows are "on point" and I will credit that fully to these tweezers. I've never had my brows done (either waxed or threaded or anything) professionally, and these tweezers make me trust my decision.
Fake Eyelashes: SEPHORA COLLECTION False Eye Lashes in Celebrity. I'm not one for false lashes, but I was introduced to these for my sorority formal and I really like them for bigger events!
Eyeliner: stila Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in black. I swear by this. I've been using this eyeliner pen since I started wearing makeup and I've probably gone through ten of them at this point. It's the perfect liquid eyeliner pen.
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Brunette/Dark Brown.
Pink/Nude: Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Pale Pink. This is the perfect pinky nude for me. I'm really pale, so that's probably why a paler pink works for me. I like layering it over slightly pinkier colors (like Cremecup by MAC) to make the pink stand out more, but if you're super pale like me, I'd check this color out for a good nude.
Red: Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Velvet. I'm all about red lips. They make me feel like Taylor Swift and they always give an extra oomph to an outfit. I like this one because it's darker and slightly vampy, which I think looks a little cooler than the BRIGHT red lips I usually wear.
Balm: Eos Lip Balm!
