If you know me, you might know that one thing I generally don't agree with is the idea of New Year's Resolutions! I think it's a great idea to set goals for yourself, and the beginning of a new calendar year is always a great place and time to start something new. However, I don't think resolutions are necessarily the first or most important thing you should think about in the beginning of a new year!
My reasoning for not really enjoying resolutions is because I feel like more often than not, they end up fizzling. I found my 2015 resolution list in a journal and it was...100% blank. Not a single item was on the list. No goals were set or anything. In the past when I've set resolutions, like working out once a week or something along those lines, I stick to it for... maybe a month tops. I feel like setting much more general goals for the year is better than trying to come up with resolutions for me! However, this year I decided to do something completely different than goal setting for 2016!
I decided, for 2016, to create a "Rememberlutions" jar instead. I'm not calling it that, but apparently, in general it's called that! I'm just using a plain ol' glass jar, and putting little pieces of paper in it with a memory from each day, or multiple memories, if it was a particularly exciting day. This way, at the end of 2016, I can see all my happy little and big memories from the year and see what I did the entire year. I think it's a great way to reflect at the end of each day by coming up with a memory worth putting in your jar. It's also a really great way to realize how much you can be grateful for. I'm really excited to start this tradition instead of coming up with resolutions in general.
I'll definitely do a little peek into my memory jar of 2016 sometime later this year, and I can't wait to share everything I've done in 2016 with you throughout the year.
Happy New Year y'all and have a happy 2016!
